Another actively developing area in the activities of Caritas Kazakhstan is the “Take Back” project. The project is aimed at caring for the environment and helping those in need. It is carried out in close collaboration with Inditex Corporation.
Each customer can leave their used clothing in good condition in boxes located in Zara, Pull & bear, and Bershka stores in shopping centers in Almaty (Mega center, Mega Park and Dostykplaza). In Almaty, the project is operating at almost full capacity. Other cities are also following this initiative, for example, in Nur-Sultan the project has been launched in test mode.
Shop visitors can leave in our boxes not only clothes, but accessories (such as scarves, hats or bags) in good condition so that they can be transferred to beneficiaries, whom Caritas Kazakhstan supports in various forms.
We are looking forward to when other stores will join the project. The increase in the number of stores that are part of the “Take Back” project will significantly increase the amount of clothing collected weekly, which our volunteers then sort and distribute to families in need.
